Sessions
Sessions are 30 minute speech therapy with your child. I focus on intense therapy, but also play games and provide rewards so your child will not even know they are working! They think they are getting lots of attention and having FUN! Taking time off from work to take kids to office visits is difficult, so I go TO your child at their daycare or preschool. In addition, I also serve private schools. I look forward to working with your child!!!
Communication
Weekly notes are sent home to parents explaining what we worked on for the week. Homework sheets are often sent home for carryover activities. Homework sheets are meant to be activities worked on for 5-10 minutes a few times a week. Stressing over homework sheets is not allowed! The activity sheets are to be done at your leisure and to be used as a tool for carryover.
Payment
I do not currently bill private insurance companies because their co-payment is generally WAY too expensive for the average parent! I have found that usually my flat fee is much less than the child's medical insurance copay for specialists.
Due to the recent Medicaid changes, unfortunately I no longer provide Medicaid services. If desired, I can submit a monthly form to you with diagnosis codes and therapy codes for you to send to your private insurance company for reimbursement. Sometimes, insurance companies reimburse parents for part (or all) of the therapy fee.
